Baseball/Softball 2008 - Welcome to the 5th Season of WYSO Baseball & Softball

Tryouts are over - now it's time to get ready for the 2008 Season - WYSO's 5th Season...

What's new for 2008?  This will be the 3rd Season Waterloo's American & National League will compete in the Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League.  This year our good neighbor to the north, Columbus, will compete along with original members Marshall, Cambridge, Deerfield, and Waterloo.

In the American League - the toss up rule where the batter tosses the ball to hit on ball four has been modified.  The batter can not advance further than 2nd base on a toss up hit ball.

In the National League - for the first half of the season, pitchers can pitch no more than 2 innings per game.

For both leagues - pitcher re-entry has been eliminated.  Once a pitcher has been removed, he or she can not return to the game as a pitcher.

We might have removable fences at the Upper Diamond this year.  They will be set to about 200 feet giving some of our stronger players a chance to jack one over the fence.
