Scott Quimby Steps Down as WYSO President

After 4-years, WYSO founding
member Scott Quimby decided to step down as WYSO President. The
new WYSO President is Mike Sand by vote of all present. Mike was
the former Coach Pitch / Tee Ball director. Scott will stay on
the board but is taking up a new roles as Boys Basketball Director and
Treasurer. Scott also wants to devote more time to establishing a
youth basketball league modeled after the ESYBL.
33 people showed up to the WYSO Board meeting on Tuesday night where the main agenda item was election of board positions. Below are the results: President - Mike Sand Vice-President - Russ Pearson Secretary - Steve Battenberg Treasurer - Scott Quimby Player Director / Safety Officer - Dave Lemke Equipment Director - Jim Thompson Concessions Director - Tiffany Maas Tournament Director - Tom McBride AL/NL Baseball Director - Gary Kniesel CP/TB Baseball Director - Steve Brey Softball Director - Bruce Dorn Gr 6 - 8 Football Director - Dave Sandmire Teener Baseball Director - Tabled to next meeting Volleyball Director - Kristy Mosher Boys Basketball Director - Scott Quimby Girls Basketball Director - Tabled to next meeting Tuesday's meeting was also a re-cap of the 2007 Baseball & Softball Season. Most comments were very favorable. There were some hiccups with softball scheduling but incoming Vice-President Russ Pearson promised that will be fixed for next season. There were some comments in regards to concessions not being open for girls softball. All present agreed that concessions should and will be open for the 2008 home scheduled softball games. The board unanimously agreed to officially drop wrestling as a WYSO program. There was some discussion on ESYBL. ESYBL is holding their fall wrap-up meeting on Wednesday September 12. Columbus and Lake Mills are sending representitives exploring the possibility of joining ESYBL. Current ESYBL members are Waterloo, Cambridge, Marshall, and Deerfield. |
